Train in person with Terrier School

Online coaching works and works well, but sometimes that little extra personal touch from in person training can go a long way. Especially if you are a hands on sort of learner.

So once a month Terrier School is live and in real life here in the Scottish Borders. If you are an existing online member, a group or 121 coaching graduate you can come and spend a long weekend here brushing up your skills in the beautiful Scottish Borders.

Book a weekend

The weekend looks like this

Friday AM - Introductions and skills checks.

Our first session together where we chat over your individual needs and practice a few key skills for the weekend ahead. You get coaching on those skills and are set up ready to go real world train them with your dog.

Friday PM - Park assessment

We head to the local park and see where you are at, how your skills apply and we make a plan for you going forward. What is it that is going to move the needle for you the most with your terriers reactivity?

Saturday AM - Park with a plan

Following on from making our plan on Friday afternoon we will head back to the park and practice and implement the things we discussed.

Saturday PM - Play

Away from triggers in a quiet spot we will work on play and any other key skills that underpin your reactivity training. This is always the best bit of the weekend and where the magic happens.

Sunday AM - Urban training

Sunday in town is always a bit quieter, there will still be triggers for sure but at a much more manageable level than a Friday or Saturday. It's a chance to practice your handling and take away more learning points for when you get home.

Sunday PM - Group choice

We work on whatever we need to based on the group. It can be more individual 121s on certain skills or back to the park to practice more if thats what works for everyone. Most weekends develop a theme and it's really obvious by Sunday afternoon what will benefit everyone the most.

Group Learning

See everyone else work, take away key points to apply to your own dog and help each other through.

Brain Breaks

Taking it in turns gives both yours and your dogs brain a break. You will learn more by doing a little less.

Perfect Location

Peebles has parks, a town high street and secluded spots. It's also Scotland....enough said.

Can I just do the in person as a new client?

No - sorry! I genuinely am because I know a lot of people really want to work solely in person. Less time behind a screen or online is a real life goal for me too. BUT, I've been doing this long enough now to know that the way to get the most out of this training is to turn up with some basic skills under your belt. You can learn those as an online member with access to the video training modules or as part of group or 121 coaching.

I promise you this will save you money in the long term and speed up your overall progress.

Time, money and travel expense spent on a specialist is well worth it, I can help you knock it out the park with your terrier, but if working solely in person is your main priority then I would encourage you to find a really good local general dog trainer. (Or if you are lucky you have a local specialist).
