Things to be aware of

Speed limits - Everywhere urban in the Scottish Borders is 20mph not 30mph. Don't get caught out.

Bikes - Peebles, Innerleithen and the surrounding areas is a popular mountain biking destination. Expect to see bikes popping in and out in the forests, especially at the weekends. Towns and cafes are usually pretty busy in the summer months with cyclists of all kind.
