10 Week Program Outline
Â

What's covered in the course?
As part of the group coaching you'll get the online course to keep. Each week we will be going over the course material, adding extra depth and context as well as giving you the opportunity to discuss your own dogs specific issues in depth. There will be daily support and help in the exclusive community for your cohort. So you can work together to help overcome your dogs reactivity.

Part One
Pre training checks and common Terrier issues to look for that might be holding you up.

Part Two
Management and motivation. We'll look at reducing the reactive behaviour and building your dog's motivation and relationship with you.

Part Three
Constructing alternative behaviours to reactivity and how to apply it to your life with your dog so things actually change.
What's included in the course?
When will the group sessions be?
Will this fix my dogs reactivity?
How much training time will I need?
What happens after the course?
What training methods and equipment is used?
When is the course expected to start?
Who is this course for?
Â
This course is ideal for people with Terriers, Terrier cross breeds or Terrier like characters who are reactive to other dogs, people or environmental triggers like bikes or cars. It will help with elements of high prey drive but isn't a complete solution for that problem.
You'll be in a position to commit to the 10 week course, with a desire to complete the coursework, keep up and genuinely change your dog's behaviour.
You'll also be someone who thrives in an (online) group environment both giving and receiving support to help everyone progress on their journey.

What should I expect?
You'll need to complete some pre course learning and take any relevant actions from it for your dog. It's very manageable and comes in the form of easy to understand video lessons. Then once day one arrives you'll be working your way through the digital course week by week whilst receiving direct trainer support in the community as well as via the weekly Q+A sessions.Â
Everything is recorded so you can catch up or miss a week and it won't effect your progress too much. But you should aim to be present for the majority of the live Monday evening sessions to get the most of the course.
What results will I get?
Â
If you keep up with the course material and put in the training there is no reason why you can't be walking past your triggers that your dog is currently barking and lunging at without that happening by the end of the course. I genuinely believe this to be achievable for the majority of dogs. You will need to commit and do the work though.
You'll then be in a position to take those new skills forward, open up your world and continue to practice until they become the norm for you. Every dog has a different final end state. Some will become as good as 'fixed' some will always need a level of intervention and management from you, but they should all be able to keep a lid on it!

Hi there,
Â
I'm Cat and along with my two Terriers Elvis and Beattie we make up the team behind the Terrier School.
I live with a recovering reactive Terrier myself and he's the reason behind this course and Terrier School as a whole. It's been a journey - that's for sure.
So rest assured that I fully understand your problems and having tried all the techniques and taken all the courses I've collected together the bit's that actually worked for my high drive spicy little Terrier and put them together in this course so that hopefully your journey can be a bit more direct and less stressful than mine.
Some happy clients
First class in every way, Cat knows Terriers. I was seriously considering rehoming my BT but Cat has given me the confidence to manage him positively and I have seen a huge difference in his behaviour "

"I really needed help with my high prey drive Border Terrier X JRT. Cat is in Scotland and I’m in Surrey but this hasn’t stopped us. Cat understands Terriers and from our first call completely understood our problems.
With Cat’s help Watson has gone from a Terrier constantly in high arousal looking for anything to chase and hunt to a more content and relaxed dog able to cope with life.

"Cat has been fantastic in helping us with reactivity. She has been patient and so helpful I feel I’ve learned so much over the 8 week course and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for help with their dog."

Within a month of working with Cat, we have made great progress with our reactive, anxious dog. Cat’s approach has helped us calm the anxiety, and manage the reactiveness, in just a short time the difference is noticeable and walks are far less stressful for us, and doggo! Highly recommend Cat.

Really pleased to have found Cat. Her knowledge and understanding of dogs, their unique qualities and natural habits have taught me how to understand my puppy more. Really enjoy the time taking her out for walks and incorporating the training, which all makes sense. Cat's online tutorials are easy to follow and are a super resource to have on hand. Finding the 121 sessions very worthwhile, as Cat gets to know you, your dog and what works for you both. Highly recommend Cat

To anyone struggling with a naughty or reactive dog, this could be your fix. When we got a second terrier, who was born in Covid, we didn’t realise how hard it would be to socialise him and to cope with now having TWO feisty dogs in the house. We had a go at some online training classes and really liked the concepts but found online learning a bit overwhelming. Then we found Cat, who doesn’t only practice those positive concepts and understands your challenges, she explains stuff so well making her, for us, a brilliant personal trainer to not just the dogs but the owners too!Â
